James Leach

James Leach is the Executive Director for Maverick, a risk management firm focused on insurance and warranties for Home Builders. Maverick and its parent, Florida based Bankers Financial, have been in the insurance and warranty business for four decades.  Leach is the former CEO of FHB Insurance, and former General Counsel for several specialty insurance companies.

Jim Leach is an attorney, licensed to practice in Iowa. He holds a JD, with Honors, from Drake University School of Law. He is a Duke University graduate with an MBA and Master of Insurance from Georgia State University. Leach holds the CPCU and CLU insurance designations. He is an Air Force trained pilot with an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, and is a multi- engine flight instructor with 6,000 pilot hours.
