What We're Looking For

SEBC is currently accepting proposals for 60-minute education sessions that provide high-value, actionable insights in areas such as:
  • Building and Design: Innovations that redefine craftsmanship and efficiency.
  • Sales and Marketing: Cutting-edge techniques that drive growth and brand power.
Licensing Board-Approved Courses: Especially sessions focused on:
  • Florida Building Code
  • Wind Mitigation
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Hurricane Preparedness

Your session should educate, engage, and empower attendees—helping them gain practical tools to elevate their business, enhance their expertise, and prepare for the future. Sessions must be informative and non-promotional, with a focus on thought leadership, not product pitches.

Most frequent questions and answers

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • A proven track record as a speaker 
  • The ability to share best practices and address core issues specific to the construction industry.
  • The ability to address a critical issue.

Co-presenters/Panels are welcome. Submit information on all presenters.

  • Deadline for submissions: February 25, 2027
  • Announcement of speakers: February 28, 2027
  • Commit to presenting—no last minute switch outs. This is an opportunity for the individual, not for the company.
  • Session are to be educational and not focused on brands or products.
  • Share your presence at the event with your social networks. Speakers that are active online and help drive attendance are more likely to be asked to return to speak again (pending good reviews).
  • Meet the deadlines outlined in email communications for hotel booking, presentations, AV needs, etc.

Speaking at SEBC is a volunteer service to the building industry which provides you the opportunity to network with your peers and potential clients. All selected speakers will receive complimentary full access to SEBC and free Expo Hall passes for their clients.

In 2027, the Southeast Building Conference celebrates 50 years of bringing builders, businesses and industry leaders together, while the Florida Home Builders Association marks 80 years of serving and strengthening Florida’s building industry.

SEBC 2027 is seeking experienced professionals, innovative thinkers and industry leaders to share their knowledge from the stage July 21–22, 2027, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

For five decades, education has been at the heart of SEBC. This milestone year is an opportunity to honor that legacy while giving today’s building professionals the practical knowledge, fresh ideas and forward-looking strategies they need for what comes next.

SEBC is accepting proposals for 60-minute education sessions that deliver relevant, actionable insights in areas including:

Business Management

Strategies to strengthen operations, leadership, profitability and business performance.

Building and Design

Innovations, best practices and emerging approaches that advance craftsmanship, design and efficiency.

Sales and Marketing

Strategies and tools that help building professionals reach customers, strengthen their brands and drive growth.

Licensing Board-Approved Courses

We especially welcome courses approved by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board, including topics related to:

  • Florida Building Code
  • Wind Mitigation
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Hurricane Preparedness

Sessions should educate, engage and equip attendees with knowledge they can put into practice. All presentations must be informative and non-promotional, with an emphasis on education and thought leadership rather than product or company promotion.
