Trent Cotney

Trent Cotney is a Capital Partner and Construction Practice Group Leader at national law firm, Adams and Reese LLP. As part of the inaugural class of Board Certified Construction Lawyers in Florida, Trent is also licensed in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and DC. Trent focuses his practice on all aspects of construction litigation and arbitration, including OSHA defense, lien law, bond law, and bid protests, as well as construction document review and drafting. He routinely represents general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, architects, engineers, developers, and others in the construction industry in a variety of matters. Trent is the General Counsel for the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), National Slate Association (NSA), Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Association (FRSA), the Tennessee Association of Roofing Contractor (TARC), Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) and several other national and regional construction associations.  Trent has been recognized as one of the leading attorneys in the field by his peers and the construction industry and has received numerous honors and distinctions including being named to Best Lawyers in Construction Litigation, Top 100 Super Lawyers in Florida, and being named in Chambers & Partners for construction law.
