SEBC General Sessions – The Post-Election Housing and Economic Outlook

Please join NAHB’s Chief Economist Dr. Robert Dietz as he provides a detailed, data-based examination of the economy and the home building market. What is the state of inflation, economic growth, monetary policy and the outlook for interest rates after the consequential election of 2024.  Will housing affordability improve in the quarters ahead via regulatory policy improvement, and how much easing will the Fed undertake? With a unique focus on the supply-side of the housing market, this presentation will discuss opportunities and challenges facing the residential construction sector for the rest of the decade. Rob will also provide analysis of specific types of home building and the demographic needs for single-family construction, multifamily development and remodeling. And Dr. Dietz will examine factors such as tariffs, inflation, and immigration and how they affect the economic outlook.
