With over 17 year’s tenure with Highland Homes, I have had the privilege to grow with our success and to add to Highland’s organizational structure and employee development. Within every promotion, provided an open door to define new job titles and develop others who would succeed me. As a leader, I gauge my success on how others have grown and become contributors to reaching our goals. I focus on continual training, clear objectives, and empowerment through mentoring as key contributors to success. With the expansion of our operations and production increases of double digits for the last 5 years, a strong team that believes and thrives in our culture and processes is critical. I firmly believe we offer our team members something different that you do not see every day in a builder more or less a company.
With these opportunities, my family and I have given back to others, my profession and our community. While I commit a lot of time to Highland Homes, I was honored to be the President of the Polk County Builders Association (PCBA) in 2018. During my presidency, I worked alongside the Polk County School Board and Academy Board to establish 4 new construction academies to promote construction career opportunities for our youth. I continue this focus by now serving on the PCBA Foundation (charitable arm of the PCBA) as Vice President leading our industry leaders in collaborating with our local construction academies.
As for our community, my family and I serve at Lighthouse Ministries, where I am a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. This nonprofit has opened a door for us to help men and women who have bottomed out in life and have lost their way. Through donations, mentoring and leadership we see God’s hand working in the lives of others.
In summary, I am truly blessed and I take none of it for granted. My family has been a large part of my success and together we look forward to future opportunities.
